East Asia

East Asia is a term used to describe the countries China (the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China (Taiwan)), Korea (North and South) and Japan. Eastern Siberia and Mongolia are sometimes also considered to be part of East Asia. The terms 'Far East' and 'The Orient' are sometimes also used to describe this region, though disapproved of by some on grounds of political correctness.
