The Gutenberg Bible is a printed version of the Latin Vulgate translation of the Bible, created by Johann Gutenberg in the mid 15th century. [1] It was the first major work completed on Gotenberg's newly invented movable type press. It allowed for the first wide spread dissemination of the Bible to the masses. As of 2007, only 48 copies of the original Gutenberg Bible of known to exist. [2]
