Biplane

A biplane is an airplane with two sets of wings, normally one attached to the fuselage and one above it.

Biplanes were the first type of plane to be involved in combat. They were very common in World War I, and several types of biplane saw action in the early years of World War II, although all had been phased out by the end of the war. Most countries still use biplanes in pilot training.
