Princeton Theological Seminary began in 1812. It is noteworthy for creating Princeton Theology. In the first quarter of the 20th centuryLiberal Christians forced the Conservative Christians on its faculty to leave in order to preserve Princeton Theology. Thus, in 1929 J. Gresham Machen left Princeton Theological Seminary and helped found Orthodox Presbyterian Church and Westminster Theological Seminary.
