Distortion

A distortion is something twisted out of a proper or natural relation to its parts. A distortion can also be a false or misleading account of something.
- Once you've simplified and distorted an opponent's position into a shredible strawman (reminiscent of deep-sea creatures brought up to surface pressure in nets), you can conclude anything you want to about your opponent's point of view. [1]
