Primate

It has been suggested that this article be split into Primate and Primates in the Church.
Primates are a group of mainly tropical mammals. Several hundred species belong to the order. They are often put into 3 large groups: Prosimians, including lemurs, tarsiers, and lorises. Monkeys are actually split into smaller groups: New World Monkeys, like spider and howler monkeys, and Old World monkeys like languars and baboons. Apes are somewhat similar to monkeys, but have no tail. As formulated by most biologists, they include gorillas, gibbons, chimps and humans.
