Anna Diggs Taylor

Anna Katherine Johnston Diggs Taylor (b. Washington, D. C., 1932) appointed judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan by President Jimmy Carter, 1979. She was the first black woman judge appointed to that District. She took senior status of the court in 1998.
Taylor education: Barnard College, B. A., 1954 and Yale Law School, LL. B., 1957.
