Haloperidol

Haloperidol (Marketed in the US as Haldol) is a typical antipsycotic drug. It is used in the treatment of acute psychoisis in schiczophrenia and severe manic episodes in Bipolar disorder. Haloperidol is on the World Health Organization's Essential Drugs List.
Side effects
Extrapyramidal (movement) syptoms such as tremors and dystonia. Also may cause the rare but potentially fatal neuroleptic syndrome. Another, potentially permanent movement disorder tardive dyskinesia.
