The Tea Party movement is an conservative American grassroots movement.

The grassroots is a political term referring to people across the nation who personally support a particular point of view and are willing to vote or engage in personal activism (such as marches) to support a cause. It is contrasted with companies, employees of special interest groups, and people who are paid to take a particular position.
