Theban Legion

The Theban Legion was a legion of the Roman army under Maurice as the primicerius. According to legend, this legion refused to obey orders to massacre Christians. The Roman army punished them by slaughtering this legion in the region of Agaunum, Switzerland.
Historical evidence for this disputed legend includes a letter of St. Eucherius.
