Poi

Poi is the term used to refer to the traditional martial dance of the maori people.. Traditionally, those who were proficient in poi were seen as more desirable, with the best performers being revered as minor gods according to the local religion [1].
Cristian criticisms
As poi performances have become more common outsite of New Zealand they have drawn criticism from Christian groups for their depiction of a pagan religion, and close symbolic ties with satanism [2]. These strong criticisms shall hopefully prevent the spread of poi, or lead to the creation of a suitable Christian version.
