Electric vehicles are vehicles that are propelled by an electric motor, rather than a conventional internal combustion engine. Like with any creation, there are it's benefits and it's drawbacks.

Electric Vehicle Advantages

1. Produces significantly less emissions.
2. Charging is about $2.44 per charge vs. Average Tank of Gas
3. Produces full torque from the first instant.

Electric Vehicle Disadvantages

1. Expensive
2. Relatively smaller range

Electric Vehicle and the Economy

Electric vehicles are great for vehicular diversity which creates competition. In a free market system, when competition is created, as "anyone with any economic literacy" should know, the consumer wins. This is because gasoline car companies and electric car companies work harder and harder to convince you to buy their product. As a result they have to bring the best performance to the table at lower and lower prices.
