Eric J.J. Massa (born September 16, 1959 in Charleston, South Carolina) is the former U.S. Representative from New York's 29th congressional district and a member of the Democratic Party. After serving one-term, he announced he would resign amid allegations that he sexually harassed a male staffer. Massa has since said that Democratic leaders forced him to resign after concern that he would vote against the health care bill. [1]However, Massa voted for the original legislation in August 2009 when he said that "I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I am doing is going to be helpful."
