Johan III of Sweden (1537–1592) was a Swedish king. He was a member of the Vasa dynasty, the second son of Gustav Vasa.

In 1537 AD, he took the throne after disposing his mentally ill half-brother Erik XIV. His reign was notably pro-Catholic, in clear opposition of his father, who had brought the Reformation and Lutheranism to Sweden. His first wife was a Catholic, princess Catherine Jagellonica of Poland.

His son Sigismund succeeded him after his death on 17 November 1592.
