Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart was born in 1897. She was the first female pilot to cross the Atlantic Ocean alone. She also attempted to circumnavigate the world twice, but failed the first time, and disappeared somewhere over the Pacific Ocean the second time. She was never heard from again.
