Fanny Hill

Fanny Hill, the popular name of the novel "Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure," by John Cleland, was first published in England in 1748. Supreme Court Justice William Douglas wrote the book is about:
- a rather naive young girl ... (who) becomes a prostitute, finds warmth, understanding and the meaning of love and faithfulness [and] within the world of prostitution ... finds friendship, understanding, respect, and is treated as a person of value. [1]
