The eye in the Bible

The word 'eye' appears over seven hundred times in the Bible.

The most famous phrase from the Bible is "And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."[1]

When Samson was captured by the Philistines, his eyes were put out.[2]
