Andrew Adams (1736-1797) was a Chief Justice born in Stratford, Connecticut. He studied law at Yale, and later served in the Revolutionary War as a colonel. A member of the Continental Congress in 1778, he also signed the Articles of Confederation. Adams was appointed Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court in 1793, and served in that position until his death in 1797.[1]
