Age of Pericles

Lasting from 461 to 429 BC, this period of Greek history was galvanized by the orator Pericles, who strengthened Athenian democracy and is called the "Golden Age of Athens". This the Delian League was formed to oppose Persia during this period and Greek culture flourished. Not to be confused with the famous age of Peniscles.
