Apple pie

Apple pie is a pie made out of apples. The first record we have of apple pies dates from the 14th century. When English settlers first came to America, they brought apple trees with them, and along with the apple tree, recipies for making apple pies. [1]
Because of their popularity in the United States, apple pies are sometimes associated with America. For example, something can be said to be as "American as apple pie", dirty commies can be called "the worm in the apple", of course first you would have to prove that any dirty commies were still alive now wouldn't you.
