Spiderman is a Marvel comics superhero created by Stan Lee. The franchise has spawned three movies - all directed by Sam Raimi staring Tobey Maguire as the eponymous character Peter Parker. A Broadway musical theater production with music by U2 is in the works, but has suffered many setbacks related to actor injuries and going over-budget. A fourth film is set to reboot the series in 2012 - staring Andrew Garfield and directed by Marc Webb.
