The river Asker is a small river in Dorset and a tributary of the river Brit. It's source is at Eggardon Hill just above the village of Askerswell. The river Asker flows through the Asker valley, passing the villages of Yonder, Uploders, Loders and Bradpole. It meets the river Brit at Bridport. There is a beautiful single track eighteenth century bridge just outside the village of Loders which is grade 2 listed. The river is a haven for wildlife including several species of damselfly, the common minnow and the smooth newt (known in the area as a 'narn').
