Naturalism is the philosophy that rejects all supernatural phenomena as either false, incoherent, or simply natural phenomena that is not yet understood. A subset of this, Moral naturalism, rejects divine revelation as the source of ethics and holds that morals emerge from a process of Social Darwinism much as instincts emerge among animals in the wild.
Creation Science rejects naturalism because its inherent materialism rejects God's existence and thus any possibility of a relationship with Him:
- Naturalism ... is often desirable, for it seemingly frees us from the authority of a Creator God. Without a God to whom we are accountable, we are free to live as we choose. [1]
