Essay:Demystified gravitation
Introduction
In February 1985 I calculated with high school calculus, Newtinian math and little Einsteinian physics (limited to equation
) how much redshift is due to Newtonian interaction between photons and the masses of universe there is in Hubble constant, to find out what is the real rate of expansion of universe. I thought that after finding this number (that as I later learned from Ned Wright is called by astronomers dynamical friction) I can use it to adjust the Hubble constand to get the real rate of expansion of space.
The result turned out to be that Hubble constant
, where
is Nevtonian gravitational constant, and
is the mass density of universe. Knowing the Hubble constant I could calculate the density of unverse. It came out right in the middle of estimates of this density, making it possible that the whole Hubble constant is the reasult of interaction of photons with the masses of universe (all due to dynamical friction and none due to expansion of space).
To be sure that I didn't make any math error I gave those results to a math professor who was teaching general realtivity a few years earlier to check them and when he assured me that there was no error I sent them to "Nature", which I subscribed to at that time, for final verification and the possible publication.
