An antifungal is a chemical compound that keeps fungi from growing or kills them. Antifungals are particularly important for individuals suffering from suppressed immune systems, which can make them vulnerable to opportunistic infections by fungi such as Aspergillus and Candida species.
Examples of antifungal drugs include:
