Amalekites

The Amalekites were a group of bandits in the Bible.
After the Amalekites attacked the Israelites, the LORD commanded Moses to kill everyone of them (including women, children and infants). Many Bible scholars concur that the Israelites thought this to be a just act.[1]
Like other tribes such as the Edomites, the Amalekites were named after a man, Amalek, from whom they were believed to be descended. However, they are more likely associated with the Ammonites and Canaanites. Their name is roughly translated as "people of the hills."
