AMD 64, or x64 is a instruction set used in all modern processors, with the exception of Sparc, and geode processors. First implemented by AMD, it was quickly copied by Intel, and Nvidia. Although Intel has it's own x64 set, the Itanium, it is far inferior to the AMD64 bitset.
