Sun Records is a records label founded by Sam Phillips in Memphis, Tennessee on March 27, 1952. It is notable for discovering musicians such as Elvis Presley, (whose contract was sold to RCA Victor for $35,000 due to Phillips' financial woes) ), Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash giving them their first breaks and rise to fame.
