Biography, a detailed description or account of someone's life. Biographies are written stories of a person's life that were written by someone else, while an autobiography is a person's story written by themselves. [1]
Since 1917, the "Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography" is awarded for a distinguished and appropriately documented biography or autobiography by an American author.
