The 2008 YouTube presidential debates happened in 2007 before the 2008 Republican and Democrat primaries. People were allowed to send in videos asking the candidates questions. The Democratic YouTube debate included the following candidates:
- Senator Joe Biden
- Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
- Senator Chris Dodd
- Fmr. Senator John Edwards
- Fmr. Senator Mike Gravel
- Representative Dennis Kucinich
- Senator Barrack Obama
- Governor Bill Richardson
The Republican YouTube debate included the following candidates:
- Fmr. Mayor Rudy Giuliani
- Fmr. Governor Mike Huckabee
- Representative Duncan Hunter
- Senator John McCain
- Representative Ron Paul
- Fmr. Governor Mitt Romney
- Representative Tom Tancredo
- Fmr. Senator Fred Thompson
The debate generated a lot of criticism for allowing Democratic supporters to ask the candidates questions, most notably Keith Kerr, an advisor to Hillary Clinton.
