Hitler joined [[Erich Ludendorff]] in [[Munich]]. Ludendorff was planning a revolt against the provincial prime minister in a beer hall. In the ensuing fight with the Army, Hitler and Ludendorff were the only two who escaped being shot, despite being in front.
In Landsberg prison Hitler became a close personal friend of an openly [[gay]] Nazi party member, [[Ernst Rohm]]. Hitler knew of and toelrated tolerated his deputies [[sexual orientation]], and Rohm later became head of the Stormtroopers, or SA, which catapulted Hitler into power in 1933.
