Animal husbandry

Animal husbandry deals with the care and breeding of livestock in domesticated settings. The practice often makes profitable use land unsuitable for farming.

Scientific husbandry only dates from the 18th century, but ancient man is believed to have domesticated animals as far back as 8,000 years ago, starting with the goat.
