Bend It Like Beckham is a British soccer movie. The movie was originally written to portray a lesbian relationship between the two main characters. One or two of the main characters are portrayed as "gay":
- Tony, a homosexual boy (included to challenge the expectation "that Indian men can’t be gay")
- Jules, a (possibly) homosexual girl
Marcia Ellen Beevre said the movie "contains strong anti-homophobic messages."[1]
