Black Shirts

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by DavidB4-bot (Talk | contribs) at 14:06, July 14, 2016. It may differ significantly from current revision.

The Black Shirts were Italian fascists during the period between World War I and World War II. They were led by Benito Mussolini, and demanded that King Victor Emmanuel abdicate in his favor. Due to their efforts, Mussolini did eventually become the leader of Italy. Their name derives from the black shirts that they wore.

For an interesting discussion, read an interesting essay on the topic by an Italian author Umberto Eco.
