Blind Lemon Jefferson, (Born: Coutchman, Texas, in July 1897)[1] also known as Blind Lemon Pye (or in early life just Lemon Jefferson), was a blind American musician of the early 20s. He achieved big musical success with records like "See That My Grave is Kept Clean" and "Cleaning Windows." The former song contains the lyrics:

Well, my heart stopped beating and my hands turned cold,
Now I believe what the Bible told.[2]

Blind Melon Jefferson died in 1929, at age 32, far too soon for such a great musician.
