Blue-collar workers are laborers who work in factories or at other jobs involving manual labor. Blue-collar workers often use their hands, get their clothes dirty during the job, and do not sit behind a desk. They are called "blue-collar" workers because of the stereotypical image of them wearing blue colored overalls or other work shirts, rather than a white shirt and tie.
