Bobby Neal Bright, Sr., born July 7, 1952 (age 71), is a former mayor of the capital city of Montgomery, Alabama, who served from 2009 to 2011 as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives for the 2nd district of his state. He was assigned to the Agriculture, Armed Services, and Small Business committees. A member of the Blue Dog Coalition, Bright was one of only ten House Democrats who voted against President Obama's $787 billion economic stimulus bill.
Bright was defeated for reelection by Montgomery City Councilwoman Martha Roby, a Republican. Except for Bright's two-year tenure, the Second District has had continuous Republican representation since 1965.
