Breanne Deelyte Davis (born December 26, 1982) is a Republican state senator for District 16 based in Russellsville in Pope County in northwestacern Arkansas. She assumed office on June 19, 2018, having won a special election to fill a vacancy.. She won reelection without opposition to a full term in 2020.[1]
Davis graduated from Russellville High School and received her bachelor's degree in speech communications from Arkansas Tech University, also located in Russellville. She has been the Communications and Legislative liaisons for the Russellville School Board. She has been active in the Arkansas Board of State Athletic Training, the Arkansas Commission on Eye and Vision Care of School-Age Children, the Russellville Downtown Master Planning Commission, and Leadership Russellville[2].
In the 2018 special election to choose a successor to Greg Standridge, who died in office in November 2017, Davis won the GOP nomination in a special runoff election over intraparty rival Bob Baley, 4,266 votes (55.3 percent) to 3,453 (44.7 percent). She thenhandily won the May 22 general election over the Democrat Teresa Gallegos, 9,161 (76.7 percent) to 2,786 (23.3 percent).[2]
She serves on these Senate committees: (1) Advanced Communications and Information Technology, (2) Joint Budget Committee of the state House and Senate (vice chair), (3) Legislative Council, (4) Transportation Technology, and (5) Legislative Affairs.of the state House and Senate.[2]
