Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark is a woman's basketball player from Iowa who won two consecutive AP Player of the Year awards, for 2022-23 and 2023-24. Playing the position of guard, Clark scored more college points in basketball history, men or women.

Devoutly Catholic, Clark is outspoken about her faith, and prays and attends church often.[1]

She said about her education at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa: "We get to live our faith every day. Dowling starts every day with prayer and ends every day with prayer. This is a big reason why Dowling has such a special culture and is such a special place to go to school."[1]

Television audience records

Clark has shattered television audience records with her Iowa team's games during March Madness in 2024.

Her appearance in the championship game in the 2024 March Madness drew 18.9 million viewers, which surpassed the 14.8 million viewership of the men's championship the following night.[2]

Clark's appearance in the Iowa-UConn semifinal game on April 5 attracted a television audience of 14.2 million, which exceeded the TV audience for every other prior women's college basketball game, every NBA finals game and every World Series game in 2023.[3]
