Chutney

Chutneys are the Indian food equivilent of {Mexico|Mexican]] salsas. Chutneys are made from fruits, vegetables, dairy items, grains and tubers. There are many different types of chutney, every Indian home has their own version of those classics that are known throughout India.

The best known and "original" chutney is the mango chutney. It is made with fresh mangos, sugar, apple cider vinegar, spices, salt and pepper. The mangos are finely chopped and rendered down in a saucepan with the other ingredients to make a fine paste-like spread.
