Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) is a communist party in Russia. It is considered the successor of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. CPRF was formed in February 1993[1] and registered on March 24, 1993.[2] Its leader is Gennadiy Zyuganov.[1]
The ideology of the CPRF is believed to be a mixture of old and new ideas.[1] The party supports the restoration of the former Soviet Union on a "voluntary basis" and the adoption of a new Constitution by means of referendum.[1]
