YES

The Theory of evolution is a scientific theory which explains how purely natural processes brought about the full variety of species of life on Earth, including human beings.

Evolution employs the same methodology as any other science. Tsumetai 09:18, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

NO

Evolution is not a scientific theory. It is just a guess, wishful thinking or an atheistic ideology.

Evolution is not a scientific theory. It's a scientific fact. It has been shown to happen (As with the Galapagos finches). What is still open for debate is whether it is the process which has led to the diversity of life we see today, or whether God created this diversity. What is no longer debatable is that within this universe that god may or may not have created, the phenotype and genotype of populations change from generation to generation in response to changes in their environment. That is evolution. Whether you are an evolutionist or a creationist, there's no denying that it happens. eyupdutch

What is a Scientific Theory?

If you can clearly define what exactly is meant by a scientific theory, and have that definition accepted by the whole community, then this discussion might, just might, make some sort of sense. However, in the absence of a generally agreed definition of what constitutes a scientific theory, all that will happen is that this discussion will descend into the usual rants from both sides, quoting from Dawkins, AnswersinGenesis etc. and no-one will be any the wiser.--Felix 09:00, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
