The Tribe of Dan was one of the twelve tribes of Israel. At the time of the census in Numbers 1 the tribe was composed of 62700 able-bodied men, making the Dan the largest of tribes the Israel. In Judges 5:17 it is indicated that they dwelt in the towns of Acron and Joppe. In Judges 18:1 the tribe expanded to find more land. In the First Book of Chronicles, members of this tribe participated in the election of King David. Samson was of the Dan, as was Hirian(Second Book of Chronicles 2:13).[1]
