A Doberman Pinscher is a dog commonly used by militaries and police forces throughout the world. They are known for their strength, intelligence, and loyalty. They are also popular as guard dogs. Their terrifying appearance and menacing bark can intimidate many burglars or intruders, and their strength could easily stop someone if they had to. They are extremely loyal dogs if trained properly. A statue of a Doberman Pinscher can be seen at the War Dog Memorial on Guam.

They should not be confused with the Miniature pinscher, a breed with which they are not closely related.
