Don Rickles is a comedian who made a career out of insulting his audience. He developed the "insult comedy" style while learning how to respond to hecklers. Unlike Groucho Marx, who only played characters who insulted other characters (especially those played by Margaret Dumont).
Rickles was a frequent "roaster" on Dean Martin's Celebrity Roast.
