The duke of Wellington was born in 1769 in Dublin, Ireland.  He was a British soldier and statesman. He is most well known as the general who defeated napoleon’s army in Spain and Portugal and at the Battle of Waterloo. Wellington served as prime minister of England as the leader of the Troy party.
