The four-day workweek can be efficient for some manufacturing operations. For example, Kyanize paint company increased productivity from 15 batches a week to 16 batches a week, while actually saving money - and, by the way, increasing employee morale. Instead of making 3 batches of paint Monday through Friday (3 x 5 = 15), they made 4 batches of paint Monday through Thursday (4 x 4 = 16).
