Ground Beef

“Ground Beef” or “Chopped Beef” shall consist of chopped fresh and/or frozen beef with or without seasoning and without the addition of beef fat as such, shall not contain more than 30 percent fat, and shall not contain added water, phosphates, binders, or extenders.

Ground beef is an excellent conservative food because of its democratic nature. It is not the target of ingredient fetishizing by the fine dining establishment, but is instead a component in a wide variety of home-cooked American classics. The cheeseburger is a symbol of American cooking worldwide, and despite the movement in the media to villify consumption of non-vegan food, is still one of the most popular dishes in the country. Meatloaf is another dish made from ground beef, and is a staple for many families in middle-class America.

One can contrast ground beef, which is inexpensive can feed a large family easily, with filet mignon, which is ridiculously expensive and can barely feed one person adequately. Ground beef's status as a conservative food can be similarly proved by contrasting the respective groups of people who enjoy these foods. Liberal sensibilities put ease of swallowing and price above versatility and taste when judging most foods, but meat especially. See liberal weakness.
