The most conservative president of the early presidents was Either Abraham Lincoln or James Monroe. Lincoln, most notably because he led his country through the Civil War, destroyed slavery, and was also homeschooled. And Monroe mostly because of his Monroe Doctrine, which basically said that Europe could not add new colonies or even interfere with the West. This is still used quite effectively today.

I agree with the many who say that the war of 1812 was an unnecessary war. It basically was The Revolution all over again, just a little less intense.

McCullough v. Maryland is probably my favorite decision made by The Marshall Court. I don’t think that a single state should have the power to tax a federal bank, which is the reason that I like this decision. Marbury v. Madison is my least favorite decision made by the Marshall Court. I do not believe that the judicial review should have nearly enough power to call an Act of Congress unconstitutional.

There are actually two things that surprise me about this. One of them is that I did not realize that Texas had at one point been a republic. The other is where Mexico was situated at the time.
