Jon Stewart (born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz on November 28, 1962) is a liberal nine-time Emmy-winning American comedian, satirist, actor, author, and producer. He is best known as the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and for his political satire.

Stewart has also appeared in several films including "Big Daddy," "The Faculty", "Half Baked" and "Death To Smoochy." He was the host of the 2006 the Academy Awards, and will host the ceremony again in 2008.

Jon Stewart has co-written, along with other writers of The Daily Show, America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction which satirizes the American political system.

Jon Stewart lives with his wife Tracey McShane in New York City. The two have two children.
